IET Events for Faculty
Wikipedia, although frequently the first stop for anyone seeking general information about a topic, has been criticized as having no place in a true academic endeavor. Recently, however, two Franklin & Marshall professors have turned this notion on its head by “adopting” the writing and editing of a Wikipedia article as a class.
In the second session, Scott Vine, Deputy College Librarian, and Teb Locke, Instructional Technologist/Designer, will cover a general overview of Wikipedia including a discussion of its strengths and weakness, tips on navigating Wikipedia culture and etiquette, and information about the Wikipedia ambassadors’ program.
This event is open to F&M faculty only.
