Mario Vargas Llosa—Peruvian-Spanish writer, politician, journalist, essayist, and winner of the 2010 Nobel Prize in Literature—will speak at Common Hour on November 8 at 11:30 a.m.

Vargas Llosa is considered one of Latin America's most significant novelists and essayists, and one of the leading authors of his generation. He was awarded the Nobel Prize  "for his cartography of structures of power and his trenchant images of the individual's resistance, revolt, and defeat."
