The Wide Eyed Film Festival’s second evening presents a screening of selected short films by Lauren Wolkstein and Alex Tyson. Join us for a compelling screening of their diverse and interesting film works. Wolkstein, a Baltimore native, has worked on several Hollywood releases, including The Virgin Suicides, American Psycho and Buffalo ’66. Lauren’s most recent short film, Cigarette Candy, tells the story of a traumatized teenage marine who reaches out to a rebellious 16-year-old girl at his homecoming party. Alex Tyson is an award-winning experimental filmmaker who specializes in video graphics and sound art. The collaboration of these two mediums is seen in the screening of his short composition, Baroque Suite.
Immediately following the screening there will be a Q&A, and then a reception at The Philadelphia Alumni Writers.
This event is open to the public.
