The Love of Don Perlimplín, written by Spanish dramatist Federico García Lorca, tells the story of an elderly bachelor who agrees to marry the far younger and highly unsuitable Belisa. Despite the outrageous and unpredictable circumstances surrounding their marriage, Don Perlimplín and Belisa learn the true meaning of love. In Nobel Prize winner Dario Fo’s farce The Virtuous Burglar, a thief breaks into an upper-class home only to find himself in the midst of a web of marital infidelity—where he is the virtuous one.
