Cassidy is a Philadelphia-based photographer specializing in visual ethnographies.
His book Armed America: Portraits of Gun Owners in Their Home (2007) received critical acclaim. Cassidy will speak about his most recent project, War Paint: Tattoo Culture and the Armed Forces (2012). Cassidy will also comment on "Campus Ink: Body Art in Our Community," a project directed by Sociology major Ann Leffel ‘13. In collaboration with a group of photography students, Leffel has documented F&M tattoos and the narratives behind their creation.
