Identity Found: On West Side via West Bank
In this coming-of-age play, Najla Said, daughter of the late Palestinian-American scholar and activist Edward Said, gives what The New York Times called “a loose tour of her family history and life, which has been an interesting one, even when she didn’t want it to be.” She reflects on a family trip she took to the Middle East to visit her father's homeland when she was a teenager and shares her views about the post-9/11 world.
A Q&A will follow her performance.
Free tickets are required and are available March 5-9 and March 19 from noon-6 p.m. at the Roschel Box Office. During Spring Break, tickets may be obtained at the Joseph International Center March 13-16 from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
This event is sponsored by the Laura and Ralph Mueller Endowment for Islamic Studies Lecture.
This event is open to the public.
