Heritage Academy: Breaking The Cycle

Kwesi Koomson '97, founder and director of the Heritage Academy schools in his homeland of Ghana and chair of the math department at the Westtown School in Westtown, PA, will speak at Common Hour tomorrow about rural education in Africa. The school has grown from 32 to 1,200 students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade.

Following Common Hour, Koomson will be available at the Joseph International Center after his talk (12:45-1:30) to chat with students interested in a trip to Heritage Academy. A community-based learning Alternative Winter Break in Ghana is planned through the Ware Institute from December 28, 2011 - January 15, 2012.
