2011 North Lecture by David Brooks

David Brooks, the noted New York Times columnist and author, will share his perspectives on politics, policy and higher education in the 21st century.
Brooks began writing his op-ed column in The New York Times in Sept. 2003. His renowned career also includes positions as a senior editor at The Weekly Standard, and as a contributing editor at Newsweek and the Atlantic Monthly. He is a commentator for The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer.
Brooks is author of several books, including Bobos in Paradise: The New Upper Class and How They Got There and On Paradise Drive: How We Live Now (And Always Have) in the Future Tense. His most recent book, published in March 2011, is The Social Animal: The Hidden Sources of Love, Character, and Achievement.
There will be a book signing in the lobby of the Alumni Sports & Fitness Center following the event.
