Human Rights Awareness week event
Tuesday, February 22, 2011
There will be an 11:30 a.m. and a 5:00 p.m. session of this workshop. Registration is necessary - please contact Val Harteg.
Pamela Pillsbury is co-director of the Pennsylvania Regional Center for Public Safety Innovation and spent 20 years working on domestic violence before moving to human trafficking cases in 2004. She travels the country training law enforcement, judges, community service organizations and others to deal with the issue of human trafficking. In this interactive workshop participants undergo the trafficking process based on their choices at 18 different wall stations. This workshop will not only raise awareness about the issue but also demonstrate the complexity of the system that has become the basis for one of the world's billion dollar industries.
This event is open to F&M students and FPS only.
