You have no money. You cannot protect yourself from the cold. Or from hunger. You have desires you dare not name. You have fears you dare not challenge. What can you do? Find something to burn. Let it go up in smoke. Burn your troubles away.
Vinegar Tom is “a play about witches with no witches in it.” Through scenes of wry humor and bleak struggle in a 17th century village, the play tells the story of how our longing for certainty produces unexpected but inevitable consequences. When sexual confusion combines with fear and poverty we demand a name for what we do not know. And that name is witch. What can you do? Punctuating the action with witty musical interludes performed by members of F&M’s women’s a cappella group Sweet Ophelia, the production will feature an innovative set that makes unprecedented use of the Schnader Theatre in the Roschel Performing Arts Center.
This event is open to the public.
